Yesterday, Friday the 13th proved to be a very lucky day for former Memphian and MSCA member Mike Norton! Mike won an Eisner award for his webcomic “Battlepug” at the 24th annual Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. This past Thursday was the MSCA’s monthly dinner meeting and something was a bit different this time. . Instead of longtime president Kevin Williams leading the meeting (seated left- near camera), it was the MSCA’s new President Chris Jowers (standing right) and new Vice President Charles Ettinger (standing left). The two new officers presented . . . There’s lots to see and do this year, and lots of it is local- or just a tank of gas away. First up is the Metropolis Super Con in Metropolis, IL March 5&6, 2011. . . . 
Whenever I go into the post office and they ask if I need any stamps I always ask them, “Do you have any cartoon ones?” and they usually reply with a “Sorry, no.” Yesterday was different!
