Theatre Memphis shout outs

I stopped by Theatre Memphis yesterday to check out the space for my upcoming Sherlock Holmes art show there in October (Elementary: The Many Faces Of Sherlock Holmes). It will be in conjunction with their performance of “Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure”.

While I was there taking photos of the space I noticed a poster featuring our own Jo Lynne Palmer as Miss Daisy!

She played the lead in last season’s “Driving Miss Daisy”.

Jo Lynne is also featured as Miss Daisy on the cover of this season’s guide!

And I just found out that her hubby and “Lil’ E” creator Jim Palmer will be starring as Professor Moriarty in “Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure”.

Congrats to Jo Lynne and Jim!

Archaia Novelizes Never Seen Henson Script

Archaia has tapped into the deepest files of the Jim Henson Company and has found a script for a movie (never filmed) which was written by Jim Henson and long-time collaborator Jerry Juhl. They will turn it into a graphic novel due out in about 15 months from SDCC 2010. You can click here to learn more about it!

DC Cancels Two All-Ages Friendly Titles

The publisher’s October solicitations, released this week, reveal that Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam will end with Issue 21 and Batman: The Brave and the Bold with Issue 22.

‘American Splendor’s Pekar Dead at 70

Comic book legend Harvey Pekar, who chronicled his life in the American Splendor series, died early today at his Cleveland Heights home. He was 70 and had survived cancer for nearly 20 years.
