November art events and meetings

Don’t forget that this Thursday is the MSCA Dinner Meeting at 7 pm.  We’ll gather at Garibaldi’s Pizza on Walker Ave (across from Tiger Bookstore).

The second gathering is on November 20th at 9 am for Sat-art-day for those who can’t make the Thursday meeting, and to give us an opportunity to get some artwork . . .

Elementary: The Many Faces of the MSCA

The artist reception for the art show “Elementary: The Many Faces of Sherlock Holmes” was a big success this past Wednesday night.

Several members of the MSCA were in attendance.

And some like Ronnie and Jane Shenks came bearing gifts!

The Sherlock Candy Bouquet was awesome!

The art show is afoot!

This October MSCA member Lin Workman will trade his usual black and white “monsterpiece” portraits for the many faces of Sherlock Holmes.

“Elementary: The Many Faces of Sherlock Holmes” art show will run from October 15th-31st at Theatre Memphis.

Artist reception is October 20th from 6-8pm and is open to the public.

Memphis is going to get a bit more “batty” this weekend.

Escape From The Asylum is an art show inspired by the Batman comics and features work by artists Jamond Bullock, John Bullock, Patrick  Tabor, Joseph Boyd, and Tony Brown.

Show runs from May 15-29, 2010 at Marshall Arts Gallery- 639 Marshall Ave. in Memphis, TN (just down the street from Sun Studios).
