SUPERMAN IS GONE

Christopher Reeve passed away Sunday afternoon in a hospital near his home in Mount Kisco, NY, after slipping into cardiac arrest on Saturday as part of complications of treatment for an infection caused by a pressure wound. He was best known for his role in the 1978 film Superman, which spawned three sequels (he was chosen from over 200 candidates). Born September 25, 1952, in New York City, he was alongside Robin Williams as a college senior chosen to attend New York’s prestigious Juilliard School to study under John Houseman. He also starred in such films as “Somewhere in Time” (1980), “Deathtrap” (1983) and “Street Smart” (1987), the film that helped make Morgan Freeman a star. His biggest impact came after an equestrian accident in Virginia in 1995. Since then, he became a staple voice in the quest for stem cell research, and founded the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation (where his family wishes donations be sent in his name). At his passing, he was 52. So long, man. You were super.
