Dinner Meetings

Dinner meetings have been changed to the first Wednesday night of each

month at R.P. Tracks starting at 7:00pm. The next one is February 6th.

Bring a few bucks to order off the menu and some toons to show around.

(R.P. Tracks is located at 3547 Walker near the U of M -off Southern and

Highland.)

Cardz-4-Kidz

The MSCA’s Angela Freeman has started a new organization to help promote

fun and help out some great kids! Cardz-4-Kidz collects and purchases

trading cards of all types (sports, movies, cartoons, etc.) to give to

various children’s organizations and homes in the Memphis area. Many of

these kids have to stay in bed due to illnesses such as cancer. These

kids can now trade their new cards with one another and develop new

friendships in a time of hardship and uncertainty. Angela has already

made a visit to the Ronald McDonald House to trade cards with the kids

Cartooniversity

MSCA’s Cartooniversity at The Art Dept. is back this time in Cordova.

The classes wil be held on Saturdays in March from 10am-1pm and will

include: ‘Cartoon Basics’ with Greg Cravens on March 2, ‘Comic Strips’

with Jim Palmer on March 9, ‘Comic Books’ with Antone Wade on March 16,

and ‘Political Cartoons’ with Jack Chapman on March 23. Cost is $75 for

Radiothon

It’s time again for the annual Rock103 Wake-Up Crew Ronald McDonald House Radiothon. The 28hr radio show starts on Thursday, February 21st at 6:00am and runs thru 10am on Friday, February 22nd. The Wake-Up Crew will be on the air (102.7fm or www.rock103.com) asking for pledges to help the kids at the RMH. (Some of the incentives for donating will be a Wake-Up Crew CD, Radiothon T-shirt, and Wake-Up Crew bobble-heads all designed by the MSCA’s GREG CRAVENS!) The Crew will be broadcasting live from the Hard Rock Cafe on Beale St. in downtown Memphis on Thursday night. A silent auction will also be held there.
